Spring 2024

A school administrator shall ensure that the following students have a hearing screening each school year for

·      All students enrolled in a special education program

·      Every student in grades Pre-K, K, 1,3,5,7,9

·      Any student in grades 2,4,6,8,10,11,12 for whom the school does not have any documentation that the student has previously had a hearing screening

Arizona Department of Health Services regulations state that a child in school as defined in A.R.S. 15-101; preschool, kindergarten, charter and private schools perform hearing screenings between July 1st and the following June 30th of the “school year.”

Fall 2024

A school administrator shall ensure that the following students have a vision screening each school year for

• Every enrolled student, within 90 school days after initial enrolment to school if the school does not have documentation of a previous vision screening within the last 12 months

• Any student enrolled in special education or is being considered for special education services

• Any student not reading at the proficient level by third grade

• Any students in Pre-K, K, 3, 7
